"Raising a teenager is hard, but being a teenager is hard too which is why our kids need someone they trust to lean on, to come to for advice and to share their lives, the good, the bad and the ugly.
Having a front row seat in our kid's lives is a far better place to be than sitting on the highest bleacher" - Raising Teens Today.
It is hard to be a teen....!
Yes, it is hard to be a teen in the 21st century!
It is harder if the parents aren’t intentional...Jeez!
The teen of today is faced with so many challenges far different from what we encountered growing up and as a caregiver, you must empathize with your teen.....be available...
They want answers but no one seem to care.....there is a cry for help behind the tough and “I don’t care” teen around you....be a light!
Do not take advantage of their vulnerability by abusing them....remember a child today will be an adult tomorrow...
If you have one or two teens around, do well to be the light....no judging, condemnation or comparison.....the occasion to indulge in any of these would come up, but please calm down, take a deep breath and address the issue.
Tackle the behavior and preserve the being.
People aren’t their behavior.
They might be as tall or fat as you are, remember they are still growing and their brain is still under developed too....
Show empathy, correct in love, appreciate their little effort to do the right thing, be attentive to both the spoken and unspoken words, apologize when you are wrong, show them some respect too.....
Together we will raise the next crop of leaders who are loving, accountable, empathetic and responsible.
Do have a productive day.
It’s hard to be a teen...
