He says he loves me

....with tears in her eyes, that’s all she kept on saying “He says he loves me” He was a an undergraduate students in his mid twenties...COVID and ASUU strike had kept him at home for a long time. She was 16 years old, naive, gullible and totally ignorant of the wiles of “users” He professed unending love for her, she believed him and they have been sexually active from day one. Now she is writing WAEC, he insisted that she should come to his place instead of going to the examination if she truly loves him! Some people get mind sha! To cut the long story short, she obeyed him.....she didn’t show up for exams!!! At the end of the day when the bubble finally busted, all she could say was “he says he loves me.....he says he loves me...” No matter how fully grown physically a teen might be, please note that he/she isn’t matured emotionally and cognitively. The capacity to make rational decisions is still impaired, they think more of immediate gratification than long term gain. It is your duty as an adult to educate them and then show the right kind of love to them. Do you know your teens love language? How often do you deploy his/her love language to connect with him/her? Parents, what are you teaching your boy child?
