.....based on a true life story...
Sonto(not real name), a teen, was having a chat with his friend during break time in school one day and the following conversation took place:
"Your Màlè no set at all"
"Wetin you mean?" Asked Sonto, with a raised eyebrow.
"I mean say your mama ugly!"
He ejaculated!
"If na play, stop am o! I no like am o"
...laughing and making a funny posture, his friend insisted..
"Even you sef know nah!"
"E be like say you don take kainkain, you de craz?"
Replied enraged Sonto!
.............................................................................
If not for the intervention of a teacher, it would have resulted in a brawl between them.
On getting home that day, Sonto had a little chit chat with his mum:
"I no like as you de pass the front of my school every morning,... you fit de pass the other side nah(he said pointing), that place even de faster to your shop!"
His mother, stared enquiringly at his boy like "what is he saying?"
"I no know wetin you de talk, abeg I no get time,....make I go arrange to prepare for tomorrow"
.....said his mother.
As she made an attempt to leave his presence, she was jolted back by his next statement:
"My friends in school de make jest of me say my mama no fine,.......as my friend don notice, no de pass my school side again, de pass the other road!"
Typical of a Nigerian mother, she bounced on him and what seem like a two fighting ensued....
Please note, I am not in any way in support of this Sonto's behaviour but you see for parents who always compare their children with their mates, how would you feel if your child compare you with another parent?
If you are the mother in the above scenario, what would you do?
